650000 tons of sugar to import

As the official news network of Iranian food industry reports the ministry of commerce is to hand in 650000 tons of white and raw sugar to the society of sweet and pastry on order to regulate the market for this commodity. The contract was signed last month and from the total announced amount some 350000 tons will be consumed by the sweet producers and the rest will be the strategic reservoir of the ministry of commerce.

The reason to do this is to use the internal power of the private section to run the market. The secretary to the society of sweet and pastry producers said to the press;"the ministry of commerce has promised us to talk to the banking system to provide us with the needed loan and so far the permission to import some 30000 tons is issued." He concluded" we have offered the government to import 350000 tons of raw sugar in order to activate sugar plants.
