The ministry of commerce based on the statistics issued by the Iranian costumes announced that exporting saffron in compare to the same period of the last year got 9 times more. Some experts believe that the elimination of incentives for bulk saffron exports resulted in this accomplishment.

So far this year Iranian exporters of saffron have exported 62 million dollars while in the same period of time in the previous year was only 6 million dollars. In amount it also experienced 19 times increase and from 3 tons last year reached 19 tons this year so far. The packaged saffron ready to be delivered in retailers also experienced 41% increase and reached 81.5 million dollars. In the same period bulk export of saffron decreased 3 times and from 640000 dollars last year fell to 209000 dollars this year.
