Mazandaran's annual production of milk is 680 thousand tons but the figure is to see a raise to 717 thousand tons this year. In the first 7 months of the current year,

the province has produced 418000tons of milk.In poultry, the province is capable to produce 26 million chicks per annum and last year some 168000 tons of chicken meat produced there. Mazandaran is currently holding the first rank to produce one-day chicks in Iran breeding 280 million chicks a year. Some of the barriers to poultry and livestock industry of this province are: instable pricing, lack of a universal data base, low capacity of traditional units and not using experts in plants.

The plants do need long-term funds and loans from the banking system, more attention from insurance companies and finally guaranteed pricing for selling their produce. And of course elimination of dealers to get the benefit to the ones it belongs to Non-governmental organizations could also play a major role by reducing the amount of wastage and cost of production. Some 400 billion Rials is needed to do civil projects beside 20 billion Rials of bank loanto build silos.
